Congratulations,
President Obama. Although I could never have voted for you, especially
since you included M. Joe Biden in your ticket, I still wish you the
best. I hope your vision doesn't make my chances any slimmer. You did
talk
a lot
about change. Are you going to nickel and dime me to death? |

According to Foxnews.com, "The FDA told Graham Monday that he could go ahead and publish his research, which shows that 88,000 to 139,000 people have had heart attacks that could be linked to Vioxx, with 30 percent to 40 percent of them fatal, said Graham's attorney, Tom Devine." Dr. David Graham works in the FDA's office of drug safety. Also, from foxnews, a lawsuit alleges that Children's Motrin caused blindness. "The complaint also alleges the companies knew of a connection between the medication and the disorders from their own clinical tests dating back to the late 1980s, and even included warnings of such risks with the drug before it became available without a prescription." The
funniest thing is that we call it health care. Care.
Ha! Health. Ha ha. That is
so funny. It is certainly not about "health". It is about
sickness
and
drugs and cutting
and
sticking. If it were about health, the emphasis would be
on nutrition and exercise. If it were really about health
it
might just work. And it certainly isn't about care. It is
about money. They might fein care as it is a wise business
practice (thank you all for reading, bye the way. I
love you. ...really) but
I don't buy it. I have to. We ALL do. We buy it and we pay dearly. And although many health care professionals do promote first and foremost, the health of their patients, the industry as a whole appears driven by power and money. The Oath By Hippocrates Translated by Francis Adams I SWEAR by Apollo the physician, and Aesculapius, and Health, and All-heal, and all the gods and goddesses, that, according to my ability and judgment, I will keep this Oath and this stipulation- to reckon him who taught me this Art equally dear to me as my parents, to share my substance with him, and relieve his necessities if required; to look upon his offspring in the same footing as my own brothers, and to teach them this art, if they shall wish to learn it, without fee or stipulation; and that by precept, lecture, and every other mode of instruction, I will impart a knowledge of the Art to my own sons, and those of my teachers, and to disciples bound by a stipulation and oath according to the law of medicine, but to none others. I will follow that system of regimen which, according to my ability and judgment, I consider for the benefit of my patients, and abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous. I will give no deadly medicine to any one if asked, nor suggest any such counsel; and in like manner I will not give to a woman a pessary to produce abortion. With purity and with holiness I will pass my life and practice my Art. I will not cut persons laboring under the stone, but will leave this to be done by men who are practitioners of this work. Into whatever houses I enter, I will go into them for the benefit of the sick, and will abstain from every voluntary act of mischief and corruption; and, further from the seduction of females or males, of freemen and slaves. Whatever, in connection with my professional practice or not, in connection with it, I see or hear, in the life of men, which ought not to be spoken of abroad, I will not divulge, as reckoning that all such should be kept secret. While I continue to keep this Oath unviolated, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and the practice of the art, respected by all men, in all times! But should I trespass and violate this Oath, may the reverse be my lot! THE END

With the controversy over same sex marriages dividing the country, the media, once again, fails to see that it is not such a black and white issue; that all in favor are not just trying to extend the definition for the protection of the sacred family to gays, but rather to expand their market in one of the most rapidly growing businesses in the country - divorce, and that all opposed are not just 60 somethings wishing for the return of some good ol' days or some radical religious control, but rather are opposed to the government recognizing ANY relationships as " legal" regardless of the gender of the parties involved. The personal relationships of the citizens in a free country need not be registered nor recognized by the government as these most personal decisions are never subject to the will of the masses but remain with the individuals alone. To receive any privileges of a government institution for relationships especially when motivated by religious beliefs (as in the blessed sacrament marriage) blatantly disregards separation of church and state. No less important shines the obvious discrimination against those whose religions or beliefs contradict with a mass view of acceptable relationships sanctioned by the government for benefits (tax breaks). A single man of the cloth who's religion forbids him to marry, or a single woman who wishes to marry her career has every right to live his or her own way in a free society without being penalized by the "will of the people" for their lack of legitimate affiliations. Family court is often a circus of sexism, incompetents, and social predators feeding off of the adversarial dissolution of families instead of caring for the real issues at hand when people no longer think they can share a home. Same sex marriage will only prove to further burden a poorly planned and already overburdened system. When two gay men divorce, neither will get the house. The lawyers, brokers, government agencies, and subcontractors will sell it off and use the proceeds to lobby for laws requiring tougher measures of enforcement, support campaigns of out of pocket legislators and judges, and hire good writers and propogandists to convince the people that it is in the best interest of the ________(fill in the blank with the most politically correct cause of the moment ie child , arts community , advancement of _____'s issues [women, illegal immigrant]). Same sex or no sex, the state of our unions is too personal to allow such a machine to interfere.
